NFT art has now transitioned to the mainstream. With prominent auction houses like Christie’s moving into digital art, it has gained extreme credibility. Beeple’s artwork sale also has captured the eyeballs of the general public. Now we see more people acquiring NFT art and getting onto the NFT market places.
Most buyers find that after they acquire their NFT art they do not have an elegant way to display it. The prized possessions remain on their phone or computer, unappreciated. There are some solutions to display your NFT art collection, however.
How To Display Your Digital Art
When I bought my first NFT, I thought about how I could display my new art piece. After some searching around the internet, I was able to find a few different options for displaying your NFTs.
Here are some common ways to display your NFT art:
- TV monitor and LED screens
- iPad or tablet
- Social media platforms and websites
- Physical copies
- Digital frames
- Metaverse galleries
Although there are many options for displaying your non-fungible art, it’s not to say that some options may come with some challenges.
Challenges Of Displaying Your Digital NFT Artwork.
Some options which may seem like a nice way to display your art can actually be a pain in the ass. Displaying your NFTs on your TV or computer lacks a touch of class as well. Here are some potential challenges you may face when displaying your NFTs using more common options.
TV, Computer and Monitors
You can set up your current monitor to keep playing your NFT art. This can be on any type of monitor. The display screen can show your art if you loop the artwork or a set of collections from your laptop.
The disadvantage of this is that even though you can use existing equipment, it may consume a lot of electricity and the setup process can be a pain. What if you have multiple collections? This requires setting up multiple monitors, wires, and connections which can be a messy and tedious ordeal.
Social media platforms
Social media platforms are great to let people know what you have and display your art. Social media may be a good way to post your NFTs and build your following. The problem is that it cannot be presented as elegantly as other options. With that being said, it may not be the most optimal way to display your NFTs.
Websites
Some people have started their own websites where people can browse through their digital art and collectibles. This option is fine but many people may not know about your site and you may have see no visitors unless you promote it. This may not be appealing to some NFT art collectors. However, if you are just looking to display your collection and not necessarily sell it, a website may be a good choice for you.
Printed copies
You can print out copies of your crypto art and display it in frames just like traditional art. You can display your art and have a QR code to verify the token details. The issue with printing on paper or canvas is that this may not clearly display the quality of your NFT art which was created to be presented on a high-definition display.
iPads and Tablets
NFT art can be displayed on your iPad and tablet but this option may require you to set up multiple tablets, and although these accessories are more than capable of displaying your prized NFTs, there are better solutions.
The Best NFT Art Display Solutions.
You need a display that can run on battery power. You also need the ownership information and rights to be displayed. The third aspect is the need to have a long-lasting display that need not be recharged frequently.
Here are some exciting and more customizable options that fulfill all the above conditions. There are newer options and innovative solutions being launched in the marketplace as we speak. Let’s look at a few of these:
Digital Frames:
The new trend is to use digital frames to display your NFT art. Digital frames are specifically created to fulfill the requirements of NFT art enthusiasts and collectors for their display needs. These digital frames connect with your crypto wallet and can display any NFT you hold in your wallet.
I have gathered a list of some of the most popular NFT frames on the market:
Tokenframe NFT Display
Tokenframe is an NFT display frame designed to seamlessly connect with your web3 wallet via the Tokenframe App and casts your NFTs directly from your wallet. This ensures that any token that is displayed is verifiably owned by the user.
The cool thing about the Tokenframe displays is the various options of frames you have to choose from. Choose from four elegant frame designs including birch, mahogany, black, and white. Additionally, choose from either the 2k or 4k display options which both include an anti-glare screen specifically designed to display your favorite NFTs.
You have the choice of either the tabletop or the wall mount display. Regardless of which display you choose, they all come equipped with a rotating wall mount allowing you to rotate your display 90 degrees, similar to your smartphone. Each display also comes standard with custom software supported by the blockchain, stereo speakers, as well as headphone and speaker ports built-in.
My favorite aspect of the Tokenframe display is the app which puts the user in full control. The app allows you to change your NFT’s fill/fit, border color, border width, and other smart settings. Simply access your NFT collection by logging into your web3 wallet via Metamask, Fortmatic, and WalletConnect, which are all integrated into the Tokenframe app.
Infinite Objects
Infinite Objects Inc produces digital frames that can display NFT art with animations. They call themselves the video print-on-demand services. They can display gifs, memes, and other types of animations.
Infinite Objects incorporated, which is a Netgear company, has started making video prints that include QR codes that link to the unique verification details. This along with the artist’s signature is built into the reverse of the frames. These displays last around 2 hours on battery and the display is high quality which brings out the various features and actions incorporated in your crypto art.
Qonos
The increasing demand from NFTs collectors for a solution to display their NFT art on the classy frame led Moe Levin to build Qonos. Unlike other digital frames, Qonos allows more flexibility in terms of using from a series of inactive works and then loading it as a playlist of art and running through them slowly in a loop. Qonos provides a purpose-built display and a seamlessly integrated platform for easy display of crypto art and NFT collectibles. This allows people and galleries to instantly curate and share their favorite NFTs on their walls.
Owner attribution and display of details are possible. The animations are fluid and the display is of high quality. It has a stereo output and is compatible with IOS, Android, and Windows.
Meural Canvas
Meural Canvas (available on Amazon) was created by Netgear and comes in multiple sizes:
- 13.5”*7.5”
- 16”*24”
- 19”*29”
You can connect to Apple and Android devices and select the images or videos to which you want to show.
You can display entire collections and you may also use the Meural app to control the settings. The colors displayed are vibrant and do well with crypto artwork. Additionally, It can be programmed to display multiple pieces at different times of the day.
You will have to upload the art and photos of yours to the servers which may be a concern for some. But overall, it is a great option to display your NFT art.
Canvia
Canvia.art has partnered with Pixeos to create a digital frame that is highly innovative and utility-oriented. The Users can display their own art and also any other artwork on this frame. This is easy to set up in offices as well as homes. The display quality is excellent and the frame is elegantly handcrafted.
Using Canvia you can loop all the collections on a single frame. You do not need multiple frames because you can loop multiple art pieces in a single frame. They also boast access to thousands of artwork from the Pixeos Gallery.
Tokencast
Tokencast.net devices allow you to display your artwork as well as the QR code to verify ownership. Basically, it is a digital picture frame that also has software that will loop the artwork and help verify the QR codes.
TokenCast software is an open-source application enabling users to display artworks. Tokencast is built by web3 developer Cody Born. TokenCast can display NFTs no matter where they have been minted.
The best part is that Tokencast software is open source. You can use it to cast images onto the LED TVs as well as on the smartphone. It is a powerful application that will remove the major barriers hampering the display of crypto art. It helps bring out the various features of crypto art such as richer color tones and contrasting shades because of the higher level of configuration. The display is clear and sharp.
Online Galleries
An upcoming interesting development is the start of online galleries as well as virtual world galleries. Decentraland and Cryptovoxels are major destinations for NFT enthusiasts who are buying up space to display their art. Even marketplaces such as OpenSea, SuperRare, and MakersSpace are opening galleries in the metaverse.
Apart from the opportunity to display your artwork at home and office, you can also display it in online galleries where art lovers and collectors gather. Here people can browse artwork as well as hang out with similar-minded folks online. They also frequently hold exhibitions and events.
There are platforms that allow NFT owners to become members of and then display their collections in special galleries and forums. Flawnt.me, an online platform that lets its users’ curate and displays their collections, is a great place for online display for example.
Collectors Hub
Collector’s Hub offers an online gallery for crypto art. Digital art collectors can showcase the collections and share them with the community. They have a curated list that helps owners of NFTs to curate their art without any gas fees. It is a free web application with allows free display and ownership checks.
Lazy.com
Recently it has been in the news that billionaire Mark Cuban is in the process of developing an online art platform as well. This platform will allow collectors and NFT owners to display and present their digital art. According to Mark Cuban, people are usually curious about what other people collect, and having an online gallery is a great way to see what is available and what is trending. He is putting together a website — Lazy.com which provides “a lazy way for people to display their pride possessions”.
Displaying NFTs In The Metaverse
Virtual worlds have cropped up in the list as they are also blockchain-based and present an avenue for display. For those unaware of the metaverse here is a primer:
What is a virtual world?
They are spaces online where a mix of social networking, gaming, commerce, music, and art all exist together and are run by the community. It is a very close replica of the real world ultimately though, they are just a collection of pixels maintained by codes.
How do virtual worlds work?
These worlds are built around platforms using the Ethereum blockchain. Users are allowed to purchase land using NFTs. Just like other NFTs, these parcels of land that are purchased have tokens and the owner can be easily verified.
Once your own land is in the metaverse, you are able to build upon it and you cannot erase the space. Just as you enjoy activities in the real world where people go to nightclubs or art galleries, have conferences and meetings; it all happens in the virtual world too.
All you need to access this world’s a web browser and a crypto wallet such as Metamask.
Once you have a medium for exchange you can go to the galleries and exhibit the NFT that you have obtained. Just like setting up a building in the real world costs you a good amount of money, in the digital world it is expensive. For a less expensive route, you can list them for display in existing galleries run in the virtual worlds by Async Art, KnownOrigin, and OpenSea.

Why Choose Galleries In The Metaverse?
The Metaverse is an assortment of virtual shared spaces. As NFTs and the blockchain continue to evolve, so will the Metaverse. The Metaverse already shows promising signs of continued interaction and development with many large companies and people either purchasing their own parcels or at least taking advantage of the galleries already built. So, is the Metaverse a good option for displaying your NFTs?
The Metaverse it the optimal place to display your NFT collection. Many large companies, collectors, and creators are already using the virtual world to display their virtual assets. As the Metaverse continues to evolve and expand, many people are expected to make use of this space to display digital assets and build a business.
Virtual galleries attract art lovers and collectors. You can set up your art in a gallery set up by SuperRare and KnownOrigin, which already have well-known galleries in the Metaverse and attract a larger audience.
Without a doubt, these virtual worlds are one of the best places for exhibiting your NFT collection.
If you are a serious collector you can buy some virtual land and build your own gallery for your collections. If you don’t have the skills or the time to build your gallery, you can always hire someone in the NFT community and get it done. In fact, there are virtual real estate developers who help with such projects:
- SuperRare, Async art and other marketplaces are in the process of building galleries.
- MakersSpace, which is an online NFT marketplace has multiple galleries in Decentraland.
- KnownOrigin also has a gallery where they have both static and animated NFTs on display.
- There is also the Decentraland Museum which is a fine art exhibition center.
CryptoVoxels is another virtual world. It is built on the Ethereum blockchain. There is a city in the virtual world known as Origin city which has streets that are run by corporations and small pieces of land called ‘parcels’ owned by individuals. Those who own the parcel can build anything they want and commercialize the land.
One way the people who buy the land use it is by building walls or galleries for displaying their NFT collections.
Async Gallery, which is located inside Gangnam, is also a gallery in CryptoVoxels. This is in the same district as MakersPlace. Moreover, Async gallery also has programmable artwork which is one of the newest trends in NFTs.
Virtual worlds are seeing a boom with corporations rushing to buy virtual land. Some examples are Dominos, which launched the first augmented reality pizza store. Like Dominos, many other companies are going the augmented reality route. Since more people are now going online for shopping, networking, work, and recreation, there is definitely an opportunity for virtual galleries to flourish.
There are many simple solutions to display your NFT art. Your choice will depend on your perspective, budget, and convenience. While discussing the display of NFT art we do have to acknowledge that it is undergoing rapid evolution. Although NFTs are currently being displayed on monitors and digital frames, the future of NFT displays seems to be within the virtual worlds. Hence, focusing on the virtual world may be a good idea if you want to display your artwork to a larger audience.
